Matt has a heart. Start praying he is on the way to Emory! Not sure when surgery will start. Excuse the spelling and grammar as I am updating from my phone.
9:00 am: He is in surgery! 8-12 hours.
10:45 am: surgery actually began
3:13 pm: LVAD is successfully removed
3:45 pm: He is hooked up to heart lung machine now, getting ready to transplant..
6:30 pm: We are off the bypass machine which means the heart is in. About 2 more to go. They said he is doing good.
8:37 pm: We don't know anything other than they have assigned him a room.
9:00 pm: He is done!! Doctor will come out shortly to speak.
9:30 pm- Just saw Dr. He said it took longer than expected, but all went well. Pray that he does not bleed! We are going to see him in about an hour.
Matt has been suffering from dilated cardiomyopathy for many years. He is getting ready to have a heart transplant. This blog will update his progress.

A sincere thank you to the following people and to those on the scrolling list found at the link to the donation site:
If you sent your donation directly to the foundation without using the direct link above, we do not have your name to put on the blog, so THANK YOU to those people as well, whomever you are! :) Check out the donation site as it has more rolling names of those who have donated!
We love you Matt and know this will be successful. God bless you, your doctors and the wonderful family who gave this gift.
